I’ll keep my .40 cal on the nightstand, thank you very much.
Whatever. I’ll keep my 92FS, thanks. 12 years and never a fail to feed, stovepipe, or fail to eject. Shoots straighter than I can. (It’s not my EDC, though.)
Glock 19 is NOT a ‘full size’ 9mm.
I love my old Browning Hi-Power.
Hard to go wrong with any of the top 4 there. The differences between them are personal preference features.
I think I paid 75.00 for each and they came with clips, a little holster and a cleaning rod thingie.
I don't think they were ever used as they look brand new.
They use a funny 9mm called Mac9mm.
People ask me "Why do you carry a handgun?" in which I reply, "So I can fight my way to the shotgun!".
The Glock 19 is not a full sized 9mm. It is a compact 9mm. The Glock 17 is the full size 9mm.
Wow, there really are a large number of 9MMs with large capacity mags around today.
I can remember when the only high capacity 9’s were the Browning Hi-Power and a French made one which was rare. Eventually S&W brought out the model 59.
It has been around 25 years since I could buy about any one I wanted.
I do see some pretty good looking ones made in Turkey at good prices. Anyone tried them out?
I’m mainly an Xd9 guy, but there is a big reason to go Glock: their mags are nearly universal, and entire other gun systems have been built around them, including the outstanding PSA AR-9 “pistol” which has the ergonomics of an AR, but in a 9mm blowback design. And it uses all Glock 9mm mags.
Sigs all the way! I’ve got a fair number of them, but I’m partial to the P938, P226 and P229. Carried a 226 on active duty, so Sig and I are good friends.
My all-time favorites, however, are the P220 Compact SAS and the 1911 RCS - both .45s.
I love my XD-9!
I am a 1911 guy.
I have a Beretta 92, very accurate, easy to shoot. DA/SA trigger and sights keep it in the safe.
I recently shot a P320/M17. Sig got it right. Intuitive, great trigger for a striker. Was able to clean Biacnchi plate rack at 25 yards the first time I handled it. Buying the X-Five variant later this year.
For me, it’s a CZ-75BD for a full-sized 9mm.
I also like the M&P 9mm and the Glock 17.
Surprised no M-9. 25+ years military use.
Hey! Anyone who’s ever been unjustifiably SCREWED will quickly see those things as potentially dangerous. (Snicker-snort)!
I have a small collection of Glocks, consisting of a G26, several G17s and a G34. The one I shoot the most, hands down is my Gen 4 G17.
Last fall I won a Springfield XDm with a 4.5” barrel. This handgun offers a good comparison to a G17. I mention this because the article we are commenting on is positive with respect to the SA.
My personal opinion is, while the grip angle might be more favorable to those who don’t care for Glocks, the stock triggers when fairly compared is terrible on the SA, while for a little bit of time and effort a stock Glock trigger can be vastly improved.
But in the end it is a personal decision as one is not vastly more accurate or easier to handle or clean than the other.
I have the Smith and Wesson mentioned...I like it a lot.
