The G17 is the full size version. G19 (my carry piece) is the mid-size. The G26 is the compact.

You and I know that. But typically, ‘Am Shooting Journal’ does not.

Agreed, I’ve got a G19 and it is considered compact while the G17 is the full sized 9mm. There’s also a G26 subcompact. Since these are all “in family” as 9x19 Luger, double-stack polymer framed, striker fired pistols... There are really only two distinguishing characteristics: barrel length and magazine capacity.
