They certainly do. But all your info, data and photos remain with them. Once you put it out there, it just disappears from view, but their database retains it.
I’ve never bothered with FB, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram etc. They’re all part of the Deep State, NSA. Google, and the DC Swamp.

I use a fake account with nothing on it in order to access on line news sources to make comments on news articles........
At any given point fb would reactivate the account. and it all comes back. There is no delete button on FB.
