Wonder if this would fly here in the US? Could ISP’s do the same thing because they are private companies and not government entities governed under the 1st amendment free speech protections. Or would the fact they are under federal telecommunication rules like radio and TV stations prevent them from censoring content?

ISPs own the fiber and the switch gear, but none of them own all of the fiber and all of the switch gear that make up the “internet”. This fact I think, has given people an illusion that everything would be available always on the internet.

ISPs can deliver content, or not, at their own discretion.
