The question is, which candidate is likely to win the most votes in the Democratic primaries?
Why not Julian Castro? He’s an Hispanic American, and so are millions of Democratic voters in the delegate-rich states of California, New York, Texas, and Florida.
He’s intelligent and experienced — a graduate of Harvard and Stanford and former Director of Housing and Urban Development.
And he’s young — the perfect antidote to the two old white male codgers, Bernie Sanders and Joe Biden, whom Democrats will soon tire of and be ready to send to the glue factory.
The more votes he receives, the more the Democrats’ usual group-identity politics will take over, and it will be Hispanics vs. Blacks vs. women, etc. Which means that the losing groups’ supporters will be angry and inclined to stay home for the general election.
Which will help not only Donald Trump but also many Republican Senators and Congresspeople win their elections.
I think Julian Castro is the one that will float to the top even though he is as radical as they come.
And the answer is “Who?”
No exposure on the national stage.
The Midwest will be the battle ground again and “Who?” will be their answer to him.
