A Houston-area teacher was on the receiving end of death threats after asking students to review an essay that appears to be critical of President Trump, according to a report.
The teacher, who was not identified, had seventh-grade students read 10 student-written essays to determine what information could be inferred, the Houston Chronicle reported. One essay, titled “Trump Against American Values,” said some of Trump’s policies “have gone against what Americans value most, like freedom of opportunity” and that “we have witnessed insensitive remarks toward other racial and cultural groups.”
After reading, the students were given two multiple-choice questions. The first asked "Which of the following conclusions would the author most likely agree with?" One response was, “Donald Trump should not be president."
The second question asked students to complete the statement, "The reader can infer that ..." One of the choices listed was, “Mexican Americans are the major group upset with President Trump.”

why is it everyone wants us to leave our politics out of workplace even social settings, yet teachers keep pushing theirs on kids?

The school said teacher made an error in judgement. The school is covering up a bigger “error” in judgement: hiring the teacher in the first place.
You mean the same thing happened in Houston, that happened in Chicago? What are the chances of that happening twice? 😁😆🤣 Do I need a sarcasm tag? 😁
Unfortunately most peoples ideologies are not expressed in the hiring process and few who interview that can figure this out conducting them. I suspect they’re trying to prevent further threats etc. so keeping her name out of the national news likely is wise.
I would think first off in the hiring process for teachers would be looking at their schooling which can many times give a view into their views on things. If they’ve ever been employed anywhere even as non teacher following up on references can add more insight.
one of my very few liberal friends that still communicates with me on facebook is a public school teacher.
she posted pics in the school of her retirement party and there were pics of those “obama idol” pictures in the classroom.
I asked if the current president is displayed anywhere or does the school only put pics of democrats up.

Funny how we had eight years of school assignments telling students to write how great Brak Ubama was, and now it’s just the opposite.

When I was enrolled in pre-med at Wayne State University in Deetroit I learned that the only major that was easier than “education” was “journalism”. In the years since I have not observed anything that would change my opinion.
The education process for teachers weeds out almost all who may have conservative points of view. This was of course one of the first targets of the Left.
We are going to have horrible governmental problems within a very few years. Really bad. People have no idea about what they are about to face. By the way, I taught public school for many years and the vast majority of the teachers think just like this teacher. They have been indoctrinating students for YEARS.
Was the other one of the choices listed ,.... “Mexican Americans don’t like to get up early in the morning, but they have to so they do it real slowly”?
***SCHOOLS*** are our nation and freedom's **MOST** serious threat!!!
Freedom will be lost in the ballot box as these students become voters.

There, I fixed it. NEA would expose her and the district would’ve fired her for not teaching children to honor dear leader and sing the Mmmm Mmm Mmmm song.

I keep telling my wife “These are the people that are gonna be pushing us around in wheelchairs when we finally wind up on the old folk’s home.”.
