Under New Zealands new mandatory buyback confiscation law, owners of semi-automatic firearms have until September 30 to turn them in. But based on this Reuters report, authorities are expecting only a fraction of those who own the newly outlawed guns to comply. Police Deputy Police Commissioner Michael Clement told a news conference on Thursday that they are not sure how many guns they would receive as New Zealand has no law requiring people to register firearms.

Civil Disobedience of Civil War seems to be that decision will be decided by the Government.....
The laws are likely not changing anytime soon, either Government looks the other way and allows non-compliance or they try to forcibly take the guns.....either way it’s a path I hope we don’t go down in this country....

The only people who allegedly gave up their firearms and whose names were given by the media, seemed to be former politicians and/or gun control activists. Maybe a few of the generic left-wing Rent-A-Protest gang, too. Smells fake to me.
