Bobby O'Rourke: I Don't Need to Give Charity, Running for Office is Charity Enough
Frontpage ^ | 04/17/2019 | Daniel Greenfield

He truly is a Kennedy. I can't think of a more Kennedyesque response than the one that Robert Francis 'Bobby' O'Rourke just gave. The Democrat politician, who is the son-in-law of a billionaire, doesn't like giving to charity. But that's okay. He gave at the office. The political office.

Is he sacrificing here or are we sacrificing?

I would think that employing Bobby on the public dime so his billionaire father-in-law doesn't have to, would be our sacrifice. Clearly the lefty message about Americans subsidizing billionaires has a point when it comes to Bobby.

Beto O'Rourke defended his meager rate of charitable giving on Tuesday night, saying that he doesn't report all of his donations to the IRS and in any case, he contributes in other ways through his work in politics.

"I've served in public office since 2005. I do my best to contribute to the success of my community, my state and now, of my country. There are ways that I do this that are measurable. And there are ways that I do this that are immeasurable," he said.

The breathaking arrogance of this isn't just Kennedyesque, it's Obamaesque. This man doesn't have to give to charity. Running for office is his great act of charity. To us. The little people.

Bobby O'Rourke's contributions are "immeasurable". Don't even try measuring them. There isn't a microscope small enough.

He and his wife, Amy, filed jointly and reported $366,455 adjusted gross income in 2017. They paid $81,019 in federal income tax and sent $1,166 to charity — a giving rate of just 0.3%, which is well below the national average.

Hoping this self-absorbed clown just goes away. The only ones who would vote for him are the ones who get a tingling in their leg over him.

Even when Cheapo Beto does give....

It goes to illegals.

“Nearly all of the 2017 donations went to Annunciation House, an organization that helps migrants, and O’Rourke noted that his wife and their daughter Molly would be serving food Wednesday night at an Annunciation House shelter.”

Another democrat flying off the high end of the narcissism scale. How refreshing.

Most of these leftists firmly believe that charity is part of the problem. Gov’t is the only legitimate provider of services. Everything else is tainted by “agendas”, or restraints upon recipients. And all those charitable donations ought to be made to the Feds.

Most leftists have at least some agenda to marginalize if not end charitable activities.

BOR isn’t merely a skinflint. He is acting on his principles.

He may have the most net-worth but Kammy made the most money last year far and away and gave the least to charity by a wide, wide margin.

He is the charity, that’s hilarious. What a boob, I’m glad Tucker announced the end of his candidacy last night.

I saw a clip of Beto’s explanation. It appeared to me that the crowd, generally, was viewing the explanation as being as phony as Beto is. The crowd was just looking down the stairs on him with blank stares.

The crap that Tucker Carlson took on him last night was epic, well worth finding online if you haven’t seen it.

Tucker Carlson’s commentary last night about “Beto” now being a ‘political has been’ is worth watching. It was partly semi-satirical, which made it more enjoyable.

Is this a cheap shot at all that really served this country and those that lost their lives for American Ideals?

Tucker also said that Beto should be able to “deduct himself” on his tax returns. hahahaha!
