My classic example is Fiji where servants of the Crown from India outnumbered the local islanders. Democracy right? So an ethnic Polynesian General with a soccer star background staged a military coup. The UN condemned it including the U.S. If Puerto Rico had no welfare would they violently demand independence. I remember bombs going off over that one.

You overlook 2 things.
One. Intermarriage
Two. Hispanics are not a monolithic group.
And they dont always get along.

Afrikaners were not there first.
The Mexican border has always been contentious and there have been frequent armed interchanges with Mexican Armed forces along with bandits and smugglers.
Democrats with their open border jingo bingo should not be allowed to allow to pervert the concept of sovereignty get twisted into being propagandized as “White Nationalism”. Use of that term is usually directed when the immigration issue is brought up to devalue of the protections an American citizen have by being one.
By allowing the hordes illegally entering the US through the Mexican border avoid recognizing and dealing with the 2nd class treatment that American citizens get while legally residing in Mexico which not just includes denial of voting privileges but employment, and land ownership in their name.
All of which when given to illegals and property ownership by them is used in territory of states which Mexico reclaims as theirs claims which we have been ignoring but could be problematical should any reclaiming effort by regime changes in Mexico arise , Our border with Mexico has always been contentious. Those barriers are a must .

I wonder if the whites become the only minority in the US if they will still be expected to work even harder to support the non-white welfare rolls.

3) We already have an example of New Mexico, which at the time of statehood was both majority Hispanic and Spanish speaking. Things seem to have worked out OK.
The bigger problem is just a huge mass of humanity arriving stateside with few skills and the need for government services. Then again, places like Texas or Arizona don’t have much in terms of a welfare state relative to California so you have to take that into consideration

1: There’s not much mixing between Mexicans and Whites (other Hispanic groups yes). Mexican men are build like fire hydrants and the women are build like toads and are pregnant by 20.
2: They are Monolithic in their opposition to us. They will quickly put aside their differences and band together against their common foe, and in this case their common foe is “us”.
And the Central Americans who aren't are moving all over the country.
