Hey, Juan, wasn’t 0bama running around taking credit for this economy? Didn’t he say, “I teed it up for him”?

You need to get with 0bama and synchronize your messaging.

So, Juan, do you think that we’d be doing better with 1.5% growth vs. what Trump - with his tax cuts, deregulation, unleashing of the oil industry and efforts to reduce unfair trade practices by our “allies” - has done, namely to jump-start our growth to well over 3%/year?

Do you think that wealthy people take their extra money and just put it in their mattresses? Well, you economic illiterate, they DON’T do that (except for a couple of kooks). No, they got wealthy because they are, among other things, good investors - either in their own businesses or in those of others. Those funds that aren’t sent to the government in taxes, or spent by the wealthy trying to enjoy some of life’s finer things, will be invested. Oh, and the taxation should make you happy, even if at a lower rate than your socialist heart would like, and the spending on luxury goods and services (that are made or performed by the poor and middle class) is good for our economy also.

Juan, try getting some actual education in economics before spouting off the next time...and bring Ms. Occasional Cortex with you, she seems to have cut all of her Econ classes.

You idiot.

Moving along nicely, Juan. We still owed at tax time, but this year’s bill was a LOT lower than last year’s bill.

Many people got a smaller refund,or even owed taxes for the first time, this year compared to last year. With direct deposit of paychecks and use of credit cards, they may have never even realized that their paychecks were larger in 2018 due to the tax cuts. Dems count on their voters being uninformed or misinformed, as in this case. Republicans are too stupid to get their message out.

The IRS probably could have redone the withholding and tax tables so that people would not have owed more at the end of the year, but they didn't. I wonder if it was done on purpose to make people unhappy about their refund.

Let’s see Juan. After enduring periods of unemployment and periods of crappy employment during Obama’s tenure - despite having 2 grad degrees, my income has gone up by 1/3rd since Donald Trump took office. Oh, and my effective tax rate was cut by about 5%.

Where I am, after people were really having to scrounge during the Obama years, headhunters now call me 5-10 times per day trying to offer me jobs. When I tell them I’m not available they ask if I have any friends with similar qualifications who are available. I tell them the truth - no. All my friends in the field have been snapped up too.

Where can I sign up for at least 25 more years of this?

What is this guy smoking? Does he not have the ability to look around him and see how people’s lives have improved under Trump?

I’m as middle class as they come and in the last two years my financial situation has improved so much that I’m contemplating retirement. I could have NEVER done that under Obama, there’s no way I could have retired comfortably. In the last two years I’ve bought a boat (paid cash) and am shopping for a retirement place near the coast. Everything’s paid off with a good nest egg sitting there. Things are SO MUCH better now than 3 years ago that it’s like seeing the sun after living through eight years of rain.

Unless you’re a lifetime welfare leech there’s no way you can look around and not conclude that the vast majority of Americans living standards have improved in the last two years.
