PHOENIX (AP) -- Arizona Diamondbacks manager Torey Lovullo was pleased to face a New York Yankees roster missing Giancarlo Stanton, Aaron Judge and a bunch of other injured Bronx Bombers.
Ketel Marte homered, Merrill Kelly won his first start against the Yankees and Arizona beat New York 3-2 Wednesday to sweep a two-game series.
New York dropped to 0-5 this year against teams that currently have winning records, and is 17-8 against teams below .500. The Yankees had won nine of 10 heading into the series against the Diamondbacks but wound up heading home 6-3 on their western swing.
''How can you not say that you feel fortunate when they're minus Stanton and Judge?'' Lovullo said.

Diamondbacks have a great Stadium.
I went to the Diamondbacks stadium, and was NOT impressed. Too much of a boxed in feeling.
I was about as big a D=Backs fan as there was until they got rid of Paul Goldschmidt. You just don’t do that to the face of a team. I am now a St Louis Cardinals fan.

Well that was 20 years ago, maybe they have a new park now.
I loved the Jake in Cleveland too, that’s gone.
Not a fan of new ballparks.
I miss Tiger Stadium.
Never been to Tigers Stadium.
One thing I HATE is how all Stadiums are named for corporations now.

The fun part is when the stadiums change their corporate name.
It is just a matter of time before we see “Amazon stadium”. ;-)
And ... the Tampa Bay Rays lead the AL East with a stellar performance to date. So many strikes against them, poor stadium, poor location, poor attendance ... yet they are doing it. May not last the season but, GO RAYS!
