Kim Foxx is a Chicago politician with political interests in Chicago and Cook country, so I can understand her having some interest in the Smollett case, even if her efforts are stupid and ham-handed.

I am guessing that the reason Obama is involved is because it goes much higher up than we know, and he’s trying to protect people.
