For that matter maybe we could reintroduce the belt fed Browning air cooled chambered in 7.62 NATO. One per squad like back in the day. Bad guys who think they’re safe outside of 400 yards would be in for a bit if a shock. Not to mention that a competent shooter could tear down walls with it.

Our guys are getting picked off by 7th century goat herders shooting Mosin Nagants and Enfields because the M4, as good as it it, simply can’t reach them.

That’s unacceptable. Yea, the grunts would bitch about humping it. Right up until they’re pinned down by shooters who are out of range. A swarm of 150 grain pills heading their way at 2,700 FPS would wreck their entire day.

My SCAR 17s 7.62 cal can accurately reach out to 800 yards. Our military has been equipped with them since the early 00s.

Or we could use the already existing issue M240s in 7.62 NATO instead of the old 1919Awhatever that was heavier, more complex and our troops hated it.
