"Those of us who make a living from the land are the best environmental stewards there are"
The hundreds of loggers, farmers and ranchers who came off their farms and out of the forests and fields to circle Oregons capitol in protest of their governments force-fed climate bill yesterday, didnt just take a classic stand for the Beaver State, but for all other states in the union.
Their major protest proved for once and for all that you dont learn anything useful about The Environment sitting behind a desk in an air-conditioned government office, you can only learn it by working the land dusk til dawn.
The gal’s heart is in the right place, but she needs to be advised that you don’t work the land from dusk ‘til dawn.
You catch catfish during that time period.
Country folks can survive.
And for those who wonder how country folks manage that while still earning a living.
I can run a trotline.
Hank?
If you ain’t into that, we don’t give a damn.
Have you ever spit any Beechnut in a dude’s eye?...
If we’re going to have CW2 this activity in Oregon looks ripe for a beginning.
No, but I do live back in the woods you see,
and while I don’t chew, nearly everyone I grew up with did, and there are times when I’d like to spit some Beechnut in some dude’s eyes.
