Raniere Beaten by Mexicans: Out of Hospital and Headed to Isolation Un

Well, it certainly didn’t take long for Keith Raniere to find out what the rest of his life is going to be like…

Shortly after being returned to the Metropolitan Detention Center (MDC) after his stunning conviction on all charges, Raniere got jumped by three Mexican inmates.

Metropolitan Detention Center No word yet on whether any of them suffered any injuries but we do have a scorecard for the former Vanguard: – Multiple bruises – A couple of cracked ribs – A broken toe – Lots of tears

The “good news” is that he got to spend a few days in the medical ward – which meant that he was out of harm’s way for a little while.

The “bad news” is that he was cuffed to the bed frame that entire time – and guarded 24/7 by an MDC guard.

And, as unbelievable as it may sound, the medical ward nursing staff did not get together and offer him a “group blow job”.

How the mighty have fallen…

*****

Back To The SHU

In order to ensure that he doesn’t get beat up again before he’s moved to another prison, MDC is planning to house him in its Special Housing Unit (SHU).

He’ll likely be given his own cell – where he’ll get to spend 23 hours per day all by himself.

It ain’t exactly fun but it’s better than being the cellblock piñata.

For context here, as there is none, I found this article from “The Sun”:

“sex cult leader found guilty, who allegedly had a sexual relationship with Smallville actress ‘slave’ Allison Mack
New York native Raniere has appeared in court after being arrested in Mexico

SEX cult leader Keith Raniere allegedly kept 20 ‘sex slaves’ branded with his initials.

Raniere was found guilty for sex trafficking in a bizarre case which has caught the world’s attention. But just who is he?

Who is Keith Raniere?

Born on August 26, 1960, Keith Raniere is the son of a New York City advertising executive father and a ballroom dancing teacher mother.

He grew up in Suffern, New York after spending his first five years in Brooklyn, before moving to Albany as a 16-year-old.

In 1998, Raniere and associate Nancy Salzman founded NXIVM in upstate New York, offering “executive success programs”.

However the organisation has now been described as a “cult” in which women were allegedly branded, blackmailed and brainwashed.

Raniere was arrested in March 2018 in Mexico on charges of sex trafficking.

He was accused of raping girls as young as 12, imprisoning a woman for 18 months and forcing one follower to run into a tree and drink from a puddle.

In June 2019 he was found guilty of sex trafficking, forced labour conspiracy, racketeering, wire fraud conspiracy, possession of child pornography and other crimes.

A jury in federal court in Brooklyn took less than five hours to find Raniere guilty on all counts, prompting ex-Nxivm members to burst into applause.

Raniere showed no reaction as he learned the verdict.

His lawyer, Marc Agnifilo, said Raniere plans to appeal.

Other members of Nxivm, which is pronounced “nexium,” were charged alongside Raniere, and have all pleaded guilty.

They include Nxivm president Nancy Salzman, her daughter, Lauren Salzman, who testified as the prosecution’s star witness, Mack and Bronfman.

Raniere’s sentencing is set for September 25.

Raniere did not enter a plea during the Brooklyn federal court hearing on April 13

What were the allegations against him?
At least 80 women are said to be trapped in the “terrifying cult” in which members are blackmailed, branded and beaten with paddles.

The women’s-only group led by Raniere is known as ‘DOS’, which says stands for “dominus obsequious sororium” - Latin for “master over the slave women”.

The group’s former publicist Frank Parlato claims that to join, women are brainwashed into handing over blackmail-worthy material such as pornographic pictures or financial information.

Once they are a member - or “slave” - they are allegedly encouraged to recruit new women into their “slave pods”, stop dating, and be on call 24 hours a day to their “master”.

If they don’t recruit enough “slaves” or respond to their “masters” fast enough, they’re beaten with paddles, Parlato claims.

New members are later taken by surprise, told to strip naked and then forcibly branded, according to Parlato.

They allegedly have to follow strict 500 to 800 calorie a day diets because leader Raniere prefers skinny women and tells his followers that fat “interferes” with his energy levels.

The controversial leader is also said to have a harem of women who willingly sleep with him, believing that they will “be healed” by having sex with the 58-year-old - who they apparently call “Vanguard”.

Raniere appeared in court on April 13 in New York after being arrested in Mexico.

He responded “Yes, your honour” when Judge Steven L. Tiscione asked whether he understood the charges the FBI filed against him — sex trafficking and forced labour conspiracy.

He did not enter a plea during the Brooklyn federal court hearing and his attorney did not request bail.

On May 17 a court heard that Raniere had 20 “sex slaves” that he branded with his initials.

He would allegedly burn his initials into his victims’ flesh, including that of actress Alison Mack and billionaire heiress Clare Bronfman.

A former member of the New York-based group Marc Vicente testified in court that leader Raniere was having sexual relationships with more than 20 members of the cult.

Vincete claimed Keith Raniere encouraged one member to starve herself, while Bronfman was ordered to wear a jock strap as punishment.

Jurors also saw photos of the newly branded sex slaves in group, taken shortly after each was held down and mutilated with a cauterising pen, reported Daily Mail.

Vicente also said that the photos were kept in a drop box that had been created by Allison Mack.

Only the jurors were able to see those photos in court.

According to reports, the box also contained the collateral of each woman, something that the court could see as blackmail if they ever tried to leave the group.

The former member testified that Mack in particular seemed to be getting drastically thinner, prompting him to speak to Raniere.
Vicente told Raniere that Mack seemed broken, prompting him to allegedly respond: “Well, I’m trying to break her.”

Vicente also testified that he was the person who alerted Catherine Oxenberg that her daughter India was becoming wrapped up in the group and rapidly losing weight.

Who is Allison Mack?

Allison Mack is a TV actress best known for playing a young Superman’s close friend on the hit TV series ‘Smallville.’

She has also been charged with sex trafficking, after federal prosecutors said she worked as a slave “master” to recruit unsuspecting women to Raniere’s sex cult.

The 35-year-old appeared before Brooklyn’s Eastern District Court in April to face various sex trafficking charges for her involvement with NXIVM.

A gaunt Mack appeared in the court where she pleaded not guilty to charges of sex trafficking and forced labour.

Mack was Raniere’s direct “slave” and had a sexual relationship with him - but also acted as a “master” to other slaves, according to the criminal complaint.

“Ms. Mack was one of the top members of a highly organised scheme which was designed to provide sex to (Raniere),” Assistant US Attorney Moira Penza said in court.

In a later court appearance, the actress refused to look at the sex cult leader, who sat two chairs away from her at the defence table.

In a startling move Mack though changed her plea to guilty.

In a statement read out to a Brooklyn court she said: “I must take full responsibility for my conduct.”

She faces more than 15 years behind bars.”

If I were sentenced to jail, I’d probably chose protective custody by default. I’m practically feral, so it wouldn’t be the worst thing to spend 23 hours a day by oneself.

News like this may be helpful in convincing some other folks to be helpful witnesses. As more and more sex trafficking cases start working through the courts, we will need some of the bad guys speaking up and spilling the beans. This may incentivize them to seek an accommodation.
