“I despise wasting food”
It’s disgraceful.
One plate at B-Dubs, can buy you 2 1/2 lbs of frozen pre formed grass-fed burgers at Costco — 4 meals’ worth, and healthier.
$14/person/day is less than McDonalds.
Pro tip: buy a deep freeze. Shop sales.
2nd pro tip: If you don’t want to cook-cook, hard boiled eggs, tuna salad w/ vegetables, whey protein powder, bacon in the microwave.
Ya. I’m definitely going to have to make that.
With 4 teens I’m sure your dinner table looks as though piranha have dined. LOL.
+1
My younger co-workers are always going out to have lunch and talk about going out for dinner.
It adds up. They later talk about how little money they have after paying for video games, high speed internet and cable tv and today one talked about getting a cable tv package and did so because it had a dvr option to record shows. This person is also paying for a Samsung 10.
He viewed moving in with his girlfriend as a way to save money.... boy is he in for a surprise.
Last year I worked the Meat Counter of a grocery store.
Every week I would get questions such as,” How do I prepare the hamburger patty?”
And these were from women in thier 60’s and 70’s asking.
I don’t make food.
I make Top Ramen or reservations...
Also get a Foodsaver vacuum sealer. I use every week for the chicken breasts I buy . No freezer burn.
Throw away your microwaves.
So, this guy wants to put tens of thousands of service industry employees out of work and shut down thousands of businesses? I’m guessing he really didn’t think his position all the way through, like how are the people who no longer have jobs going to afford to make those home cooked meals he’s pushing.
I cook or wife does every night
I can make better food waaaaay cheaper !
I work everyday and cook every night. Or wifey does.
Its in the blood. Both parents cook
For some odd reason, I've never heard of Instant Pot before.
They are losing thousands of dollars a year in gas and electric bills running their washers and dryers.
My wife loves to cook but if I was on my own I’d eat out a ot more often.
Isn’t that supposed to be one of the benefits of FReedom and the resultant Capitalism - the ability to blow some spare cash on the smaller luxuries?
Also -- get roasts on sale and freeze them. Thaw one at a time, thin slice, sprinkle with A1 or garlic powder and put in a food dehydrator overnight. Instant beef jerky for maybe half the price of store-bought.
One of the best skills to learn...how to feed yourself.
I started in the Cub Scouts...with beef stew. Was that my stomach rumbling? Hello, Dinty Moore. I’m lazy!
