Where did they go? It appears that they died and were not replaced by fresh cohorts of younger voters.
The voters in their 30's and 40's identify as "independents" and that category outnumbers both Republicans and Democrats in this State. Unfortunately, those "independents" tend to break about 60-65% for the Democrats when they vote. Their turnout seems to be lower than voters with party affiliations.
Hispanics vote Democrat about 60% of the time and that does not appear to have changed very much in the last 10 years. Hispanic populations are increasing.
Blacks have voted Democrat about 90% of the time since the early 1970's. That may be changing since the 2018 election, but it is not yet clear. Black populations are stable.
Women vote Democrat at about a 50-60% rate. Single women vote Democrat at about a 85% rate. The percentage of single women in the general population is increasing.

The only thing the people hate worse than Democrats is Republicans.
