And that’s what Jesus is doing today! Jesus comes today with healing. Jesus is restoring us in soul and spirit, through the good news being preached here today. Know that by Christ’s death on the cross your sins, though they be many--your sins are forgiven! Jesus has paid the price. Jesus has done the work! Your salvation is his work, not yours. Jesus says to you today, “Come unto me, all you who labor and are heavy-laden, and I will give you rest.” Jesus is our Sabbath rest.

Are you teaching that the 4th commandment is no longer in effect?

I don't think he is. Rather, a proper view of the Sabbath is that it NEVER WAS in effect the way the WCOF catechism defines it. Strict sabbatarians have diverted the entire purpose of the sabbath from a root emphasis on the restoration of creation to an emphasis which is frankly almost indistinguishable from the Pharisees, with their obsession with legal strictures. The entire focus is and should be on activity related to the redemption and restoration of our souls, our bodies, and the broken cosmos...., and not whether or not we can take trips, play tennis (or basketball, or swim, etc etc) or participate in any number of "secular" activities, which is frankly a Romanish distinction. At the core, the commandment is positive. That is where sabbatarians often get it 100% out of phase. God will take care of me, and has given me a day to refresh my understanding of His salvation and restoration, to sing for joy about it and renew my hope and trust in that. I should/can rest in Him, not focusing on making money or finishing up my allotted tasks on that day. There is actually a strong case to be made that the entire new age is an intrusion of the "sabbath" into every day for believers, and that the "sabbath" of every day living is the end result in the new heavens and new earth.
