Gun Stress Test at a Higher Level - Hi-Point pistol has been known to take a beating anywhere from running it into the mud to having it run over by a truck and still keeps on running.
Will a Hi-Point pistol work if dropped from a helicopter? Well, this is what Edwin Sarkissian did. Check out this skydiving Hi-Point pistol that was "dropped once".
Love them or hate them Hi-Point pistols are here to stay. Some people swear by them as an economical protection handgun while others swear at them. Are they that tough?
In this video we see a Hi-Point pistol get chucked out of a helicopter. It hits the ground and is found after some searching. Testing the pistol afterwards Edwin Sarkissian finds the trigger will not work and the pistol is done.
Is this a thing to consider when making a purchase? To some this may be a driving point if theyre looking for durability and reliability. However, there has to be a line of which stress test is worth knowing about that is likely to happen in the real-world. Chucking a pistol out of a helicopter at 1000 ft. and retrieving it to use may not be a realistic scenario.
If nothing else this video was quite fun to watch. When was the last time youve seen a flying Hi-Point pistol? Read and see the rest of skydiving Hi-Point pistol.
Thanks for that info!
Not being a weapons expert can be a handicap on FR.
On my S&W Shield .45, the striker is placed into firing position by the slide pulling it back as it moves rearward.
As the slide comes forward the sear catches the striker and holds it in position, ready to fire.
Pulling the trigger simply disengages the sear from the striker and allows the striker to be pulled by the spring into the impacting the primer.
If there is no round in the chamber the mechanism still operates.
But you would need to rack the slide to restart the cycle.
Cabron! LOL!
Funny and fun video. Brave, perhaps even reckless, move to try test firing the obviously broken pistol with his strong hand.
The only thing the video lacks is a strip down of the pistol afterwards to identify everything that was broken by the impact and the part or parts that caused the pistol not to function.
Another Freeper wrote that Hi-Point has a pretty good guarantee policy and would repair even this pistol if returned to them. Send it in along with the video so they can redesign the “defective” parts and prevent inexcusable failures like this in the future.
