I think you are missing the point. In virtually all other countries, the poor have NO food. Nothing. Zilch! High carb, high salt food is better than nothing...or grass (North Korea)

The comps here went pretty rapidly from “kings of 200 years ago” to “people suffering absolute starvation”.

As long as people understand that our poor are really much closer to the latter than the former, and that even making the comparison to the former is ignorant in the extreme, I’m OK with that.
