Bo Berry biscuits rock
Wow. You’re an early bird.
I sometimes don’t make 9:15 am. I have bought the spinach and bacon in a pinch, but it’s not nearly as good.
“When I go out to breakfast I usually go pretty early. I usually get up at 4-5 am”
It’s a struggle for me to get to sleep before 2:30 or 3:00 AM so McDonald’s all day breakfast is a Godsend to me (I try to make it to “breakfast” by 2 in the afternoon).
My schedule is erratic. I’m retired so I can sleep when I get tired. Lately, I’ve been sleeping twice per day, 2-5 hours at a time. If I have to stay up for a full day, I drink a lot of coffee.
I did conquer the triple Baconator once. But it was half dinner, half breakfast. Damn good burger, though.
I lived in Victoria from 1977 to 79. There were no Tim Hortons in Victoria. At that time, Victoria was authentically British-influenced and that was the primary influence. Not eastern Canada or the U.S. It was all tea and crumpets(?), No coffee or donuts. The Victoria culture was unique in Canada . Now very diluted (not talking about the coffee at Tim Hortons). Even much of the accent (to me) is gone now.
I think that was the essence of my post.
Not exactly. Based on normal traffic flow for that time of day for that location a certain number of burgers are being fried for use at any given time. When customers come in then the burgers being fried are ready to be served and replacement burgers for the as yet realized customers are put on the grill. Remember the guarantee that every burger will be juicy? Every so often for whatever reason there is an ebb in traffic flow and the burgers on the grill are no longer considered juicy enough to be served as sandwiches. New burgers are put down and the ones that are considered too dried out to be “juicy” get put in a bin for the next batch of chili.
I have seen eggs for as low as 52 cents a dozen recently. Just unreeal how cheap they are now.
I’m surprised I can still get milk for $1.49/gal at Kroger. Not long ago it was only $1.19. Far cheaper than their competition and I haven’t figured out why they don’t advertise it.
Loved that book when I was a kid. Forgot the name...
The regional donut shops around here, close at 11:30 a.m. And while you can eat a donut any time of day, they were specifically invented for breakfast. Sure you’re not pulling our collective leg? (And say...ever heard of this thing called a pancake?) ;)
Hardees are Carl’s Jr in our region. For some reason, they’re not as popular around here. I’ve always thought their burgers, and biscuits and gravy were good. If McDonald’s would actually toast their egg mcmuffins, they might be good. Their big breakfast is pretty good, if you like scrambled eggs and really greasy “hash browns”. At least they’re consistent.
My sister and I, while travelling, stopped at a McDonald’s years ago, that served FRIED eggs! Pleasant surprise for those of us who don’t like scrambled eggs.
What I want to know, is, why can’t any of these places make a simple piece of toast?
Canada. Oh, that explains it! They (at least when I was a kid) had a bit of a British idea of breakfast. Do Brits even know what a donut is?
Until recently, milk was almost $4 a gallon around here -— for at least 15 years. Now, it’s around $2 a gallon at Aldi, and our local Dollar General sells it for $2.50. Still nearly $4 at our one and only grocery store.
Best deal I ever got on eggs (from a store) was the WalMart the next city over.
I was in there one day and they had two 18-packs of eggs shrink-wrapped together. $1.36. I should have grabbed a couple packages (now that I know how long they last). There’s so many things you can use them for.
Last package I got was 36 for $1.78. Again, local WalMart.
All Hail The Baconator!
