Hardees is the spot to be in rural NC breakfast scene.
I worked for them as a teenager in Ames, Iowa. Back then we had fried chicken and roast beef in addition to the regular menu. Very busy before and after ISU football games.
Bojangles.
A lot of times Hardees is the only spot for breakfast in the rural NC scene.
Hardee’s is fine, but I miss Biscuitville since I moved back home to Florida.
Biscuitville. It’s Biscuitville for breakfast.
Hardees has good biscuits, and we have Bojangles near which has great biscuits (country ham!)
In our time, McDonalds and Hardees are across the street from each other. For breakfast, the liberal geezers hang out at Hardees, and conservative geezers go to McDonalds. They do NOT mix.
When McDonalds was closed three months for re-building, conservatives went to another town instead of holding their noses and going to Hardees temporarily.
There are a couple of Hardees in Virginia Beach that have Square Dancing and live Bluegrass nights ,( never took that in personally ), but theyre packed when they do have it.

Hardees was pretty small time around here until McDonald’s had the bright idea of doing away with breakfast biscuits and forcing croissants on the breakfast crowd.
Hardees jumped on that with both feet advertising constantly that “breakfast time is biscuit time”.
My first trip to Hardees I got a bacon, egg and cheese biscuit with a slice of tomato.
Never did eat a damned croissant.
Still love the Hardees breakfast.
Only go to McDonald’s when I need to clean my system out.
Chick Fil A has a great breakfast
