Yesterday afternoon we were on the north side of the house watching some of the aerobatics of the Thunderbirds and they looked as if they were finishing up. I told Mrs rktman it appeared they were headed our way. Yup. Couldn’t get the camera phone up quick enough but with my flag waving in the breeze framing them, they came right up our street and started a left bank right over the house. We went to the east side and watched them headed south towards downtown. IT WAS AWESOME. The Blue Angels did that a couple years ago. Yeah buddy! Hopefully the wind will cooperate today but looking iffy with the forecast. Mrs rktman got to be an honored guest years ago when we were in FL and she still has the pic to her from the Thunderbirds signed by the pilots and she’s right there in the pic. That was cool as hell.
Our daughter and son in law are there too! First time for him, he’s an instructor on the c130 in Albuquerque and flies his own Pitts. I think he’s probably want to do some of this stuff.
