Exactly - how are these “universal” background checks going to be enforced? Criminals already buy guns without such a check (and/or steal them).

In most states, there is no gun registry- so how will the government know if you seel your old 870 shotgun to your neighbor or brother, give it as a gift, or trade it for something you will use more? There is NO way... without universal registration.

But one problem - even where they have registration... criminals don’t register their guns!

I would be concerned about BATF&E sting operations.

A nice AR shows up on TexasGunTrader (for instance) and a meet is arranged in a gun store parking lot via text... what are the odds?
