What have we learned recently that was kept from us for almost two decades? That the CIA not only knew WHO Atta was they knew WHERE he was and WHAT he was doing (learning to fly a multi engine commercial jet at a flight school in the US). They were “watching” him but they “lost track of him” just as he and his friends hijacked an aircraft.
The same “Intelligence” agencies that attempted a coup against our president. IMHO we have damned good reasons to never trust the FBI or CIA again.

Given that, the US has to make its decisions regarding Iran without trusting the CIA or the FBI. That’s unfortunate, but we’ve been making successful foreign policy decisions long before either organization existed. Without them we’re not blind, certainly not to Iran’s intentions.
