New DTE call center to add 100 jobs (Michigan)

UPPER THUMB — A new DTE Energy call center will add about 100 jobs in Cass City after the first of the year.

DTE Energy recently announced it will open a customer call center at its North Area Energy Center electric operations facility in Cass City.

While any new jobs are a boon for a community, that many new jobs sent ripples of excitement and anticipation throughout the Thumb area.

“We are very excited about that announcement ,” said Cass City Village Manager Debbie Powell. “These jobs will offer great opportunities for our local workforce to build a long-term career with DTE, and spur economic growth in and around Cass City and the Thumb Region.”

DTE Energy, which is Michigan's largest energy company, has an office at 4100 Doerr Road in Cass City.

“DTE has a large facility toward the industrial park that houses their current staff," Powell said. "I think there are about 40 people in that building now. They are going to be using that facility more. And, they will add over 100 jobs at that center in the early part of 2020.
