Birmingham, Alabama has 53 times the National Average of Justifiable Homicides Image courtesy Dean Weingarten
In 2019, Birmingham, Alabama has reported a justifiable homicide rate 53 times the national average, as reported in the FBI Uniform Crime Reports.
11 of the reported homicides were ruled justifiable as self-defense by investigators or prosecutors and 3 resulted from reckless driving. The suspect in another murder was shot to death on the scene and another killed himself. One death resulted from a violent act committed the previous year. One other homicide took place at the Jefferson County Jail outside the city's jurisdiction. The police department, therefore, acknowledges 82 chargeable homicides. Suspects have been identified in 49 of those cases, arrested in 46 and charged in 41. Charges in one case were dismissed.
When justifiable homicides are carefully tracked, there are found to be more than five times as many as the FBI UCR records.

About 15-16 percent of homicides, in a given year, are justified.
Is my math off, somehow?
Someone might want to have a talk with the cute chick about tactics and weapon retention.
Knew a lady from B’ham. Told me her mom kept a pistol under her brassiere.
Never met mom, but figured she was...busty.
Oh, there are people needing killin’ EVERYWHERE.
Not any more...
I was looking at that too, but then I noticed that there appears to be a second revolver grip in the other hand also preventing her from using two hands on that. But if she pulls the trigger on that one it is going to nail her in the forehead. lol
Your figures are off.

The interesting thing is that non-cops kill almost as many bad guys as cops, and you know they will only list something as justifiable by private citizen if it is unambiguously open-and-shut, while cop homicides will be listed as justifiable UNLESS it’s obvious that it wasn’t.
Bra holsters have been around for a long time. I would not recommend them. Seems like an easy way to give herself a mastectomy.
Yes. Birmingham is like Memphis and other cities where you shouldn’t go out after dark when the ferals get up and start prowling the streets.
But yall knew this already.
100% Americans.
Satisfied?
Moms didn’t use a holster, as it was described to me.
{Probably even more reckless, though her family seemed to favor small caliber pistols.)
Those are the official UCR numbers by the FBI.
As noted in the article, the FBI only catches about 20% of non-police justifiable homicides.
We also know police justifiable killings tend to be about 1000 per year because of the intense media scrutiny after the whole Black Lives Matter imbroglio.
Maybe there are dumber folks there who can’t learn you don’t mess with folks who carry?
Judging from my sojourns there, about 50%. I shan’t get into demographic hairsplitting, because it has it’s share of melanin-deficient peckerwoods who need sterilized from the public at large, as well.
Some people just need killin
And were trusting those Fan Belt Inspectors, now?
Yeh, dem dangnabbed Pentikostels come out at nite .....LOL...
Although not ideal, carry purses are much better. They are not obvious and you can carry a full sized pistol. Men have more of a difficulty and concealing the firearm is difficult.
