None of this is new to me. In 1980 I was a very young assoc professor and coordinator of the FIU independent studies program. First they stuck me with the incarcerated adults program.
After having sat face to face with parolled murderers I was somewhat OK with being stuck with 180 saudi arabian students who were training to be the royal guards for the King. They are all from the ruling class. Most are extended royal family. They are all related to each since everyone marries their cousin. They cheat on exams to the point I was pretty much just told to pass them all. They all have a certain sense of entitlement and they are mostly just lazy. It was the longest semester of my life. It looks like nothing has changed.
That same school year, 1975-76, our college got a bunch of Iranians. They hated being here and made it very plain we were to never speak to them. They rarely showed up for class and never participated in any discussion. I never saw them turn in homework or show up for tests. Grading on the bell curve was popular so with the rule to pass the Iranians, we were screwed.
I’ve had other FRiends say that’s what happened on their campuses, too.
An awaking would give the demonrats another excuse to go after Trump.
IOW, those under fire had to wait around for the local deputies to show up. Where were the MPs? Or are MPs not allowed to be armed either?
Until we stop referring to acts of war by the irregular armed forces of Saudi Arabia as “terrorist attacks” we are not going to get anywhere.
I guess different environments possibly.
Lower echelon guys probably were in the military, and I was at a state college which probably didn’t get the high end snobs, I guess.
It all ended on 11/4/1979...nothing has been quite the same after that.
