Hard to read the headline "Democrats Pass Up Party Politics for National Victory" without laughing.

As the war progressed, new ships began to have more and more anti aircraft guns. Older ships when refitted also had them added.
Still in the end they were vulnerable to air attack.

Noticed the ad for a NEW 1942 Studebaker. Price was $810.

The Southeast Missourian is still around although much smaller, of course. There is still a J.C. Penney’s in Cape Girardeau, but the other business that had ads are long gone. Some of the names in the article still have families in the area.
There is a YouTube channel that does the stories of WWII week by week, but they are now in December of 1940. Ten to twelve minutes of the week’s war news. Learn something new every week.

A vivid and graphic history of another era. As a child in England I remember the disaster. There followed a massive nation wide campaign to raise monies for new ships.
Thanks America and your saving of our bacon. God bless this land. May all end well for your president and the whole country.

I have a book, which I am sure is long out of print titled, The Mind of Adolf Hitler. It is based on a report commissioned by the OSS to anticipate what Hitler would do. The conclusion of this team of physiatrists in 1943 is that he was a schizophrenic psychopath and accurately predicted his mental deterioration and how he would end his life. You might be able to find a copy at Amazon.
Well, here it is. And for no more than I got my copy at St Vinnies.
