Yes I agree that lunacy is the right word. Hitler was likely insane but disguised his condition. The Germans had factions that hated the man. Invading Russia was his death knell. Absolute madness. There were two attempts to kill him by Germans. Yes also the failure of the rockets to break the British resolve. I remember two incidents of each one in my area.
I have been absent from the UK for sixty years. I am told things have drastically changed in the make up of the population. Who knows?
