Joshua Kaleb Watson, 23. Recent USNA graduate. Hero.

His dreams of becoming a naval aviator were dismantled, but Joshua and Caleb were the only two of the generation of the Exodus who merited to enter the Promised Land.

And on December 7th, 2019, the 78th anniversary of Tora! Tora! Tora!...

Every morning and every night, the American, Navy and Marine Corps flags are raised and lowered at Naval Air Station Pensacola.

As a rule, anyone who is on base and in uniform at the time the colors are raised or lowered must stand at attention and salute the flag. Typically at 7:30 on a Saturday morning, a few dozen or so airmen might fill the yard beneath the flag.

But this Saturday, just 24 hours after a gunman opened fire in a classroom building on base, killing three people and wounding eight more, hundreds of military personnel donned their dress uniforms — typically reserved for only the most formal occasions — and filled the yard with a sea of salutes as the stars and stripes went up.

Go NAVY, sink Army. The Navy is out to win this for Ensign Watson. It *is* the Song of the Sea.

The miracle oil never runs out.

The Arizona's oil leak is called the "Tears of the Arizona" (Eretz Ziona). She is buried where she died, in an isolated grave (Hawaii is the most isolated archipelago on the planet).

Bitter weeping. Every detail connects. Rectification is coming.

Got some news for you folks. This has been policy for many decades. I enlisted in 1973, and it was policy then. I retired in 1997, and it was policy then. I’ve been retired for over 22 years, and it’s still policy. Much as I’d like to, can’t blame it on Clinton or Obama. To the best of my knowledge and belief, it has been the case since at least WW1. Wouldn’t surprise me to find that it’s been the case since 1865 or so.

“ Only cops and military should have guns”. The usual refrain of gun activists. They should be behind the drive to have military personnel carry loaded guns on base.

I’m dredging up memories when discussing the issue of armed military in “peacetime” conditions.

During the attack on Pearl Harbor it seems to me those wishing to be armed had to run to the Armory in order to be armed. I was a year old when the battle took place so I wasn’t there.

Side arms might not be too big an issue during the day, but rifle carrying soldiers need a safe place to store their arms while performing some training objectives, during classroom study, meals etc. going to the restroom.

It takes a great deal of time and effort to provide safe storage of arms within reach of those who are armed all the time. Even the side arm carrying soldiers have to sleep, and the way the military operates in peacetime, you can’t just have thousands of sidearms unsupervised at night in the BOQ, the barracks, or lying around houses on base. The entire issue of firearms safety and protection would become a very important issue overnight.
