I think it ends up being someone the gun man wanted to target and didnt care if he ended up dead. He had to know there would be people that carry there. It was probably pretty obvious.

I think you are right, I saw the video and it appeared the shooter was after a specific target at the front of the church. He passed by several people he could have shot if all he wanted was a body count.
