Liberty as far as liberals are concerned is about freedom that comes from government benefits, not the absence of government intrusion into our lives. Liberalism died when it started believing in big government instead of limited government.

“Liberalism is dead. In its wake, we have an opportunity to struggle for equality and power. It is imperative that we seize this opportunity. If we don’t start optimistically organizing on the egalitarian principles of anarchism and communism, then the authoritarianism sweeping the Western world will gladly take liberalism’s place.”

When people plan to announce that they are socialist douchebag scum they should start by just announcing it outright. Tell them what you’re gonna tell the,, tell them that, and then tell them again sort of thing.

People like these writers are a sognificamt part of what is wrong with the world.

They think fascism is telling people to be moral (especially sexually moral), authoritarianism is prople should be responsible for their own affairs or use a bathroom based on their actual sex, and racism is being white and Christian.

Liberalism (western society) bad and now dead. 2016 election of Trump means the son of Liberalism (Trump) is a white Nationalist capitalist.

This all is moronic, juvenile talk and the very computer that he writes this blather on is a sign that capitalism is still alive. If he forgets to gripe one day, he may just see the good works of our western society. And if he has the intellectual courage to compare our society to any other time in history he just might sh*t his pants and be grateful for once.

Ironically, the author, Siraj Ahmed Sindhu, likely is the first generation of his family born into our evil capitalistic economy, raised in greater wealth than possible in the shithole country from which his parents fled, and then was offered an education at an elite New England college full of the offspring of the wealthy oppressors. Just so he can write a puerile screed like this one.

Hilarious read once you get past the realization that the author has isms rattling around in his empty head like seeds inside a dried gourd. This is old-style Marxism stretched beyond its limits to cover an entirely different world from that of 1848 Germany.

It started to go bad for Karl and his boys when they decided that because there really wasn't an industrial proletariat they'd just extend those principles to the working classes, whether grease monkey or peasant. It doesn't really map well, nor does the belief that the working classes aren't really revolutionary classes but are in need of leadership by - ahem - intellectuals such as the author, or such as the author's self-image at least. It got rockier still when the Frankfurt School decided to identify the hated bourgeoisie with the consumer classes, a mapping that fails in the face of the fact that the capitalists and the petit bourgeoisie buy just as much soap as anyone else. If we're all bourgeoisie, then nobody is.

It gets still worse when the author claims that the "white working class" is "mythical", meaning that he still believes that economic class solidarity trumps race. That was never true and isn't any more true now that the idiot label "whiteness" papers over the difference. The class is "mythical" because whiteness equals bourgeois, that class still using its every wile to oppress the others. Anyone who still thinks this model explains anything is simply too stubborn and stupid to see the light of day before him.

They'll never give it up. A century and a half of failure only makes them more determined to double down on this creaky, tattered, paper-thin religion masquerading as politics. The price of free speech is letting the idiots rant.

Where’s the barf alert?!

This must have been written by Antifa.

“But what do we stand for? We must proactively ask ourselves what kind of
society we wish to form. This calls for serious consideration of a politics
left of liberalism. We stand in favor of wealth redistribution, dissolving the
institution of the police, communal ownership of the means of production,
ecologically sustainable production and consumption and the rights of
communities to self-determination.”

Garden variety manifesto.

"If we don’t start optimistically organizing on the egalitarian principles of anarchism and communism, then the authoritarianism sweeping the Western world will gladly take liberalism’s place."

It is possible for people who scored high on the English portion of the SAT's, but who have no common sense nor connection to reality, to write a seemingly well worded manifesto in which the vocabulary words appear to connect and form a structured point.

In this case, the deceptive writer is also himself deceived (and certainly impressed) by his formula. So this is a Self-Sophistry Manifesto.

It attempts to build a grand lego structure out of stuffed animals. The manifesto is true, in so far as it's true that one can get a number of stuffed animals to sit atop and aside each other, forming a mound. It is true in that it is, in fact, a mound.

I say 'garden variety' because it stands as a monument the same way a thousand ant hills over a Texas grassland each stand as monuments to an individual significance. That is, they don't.

Exactly.

We have too many people who come to America and they are ungrateful over the American economy, they still complain over the economy.

Crazy.

In their time travel fantasies these demented types have put forward a Nazi (in uniform no less) going forward to 2017 being welcomed by patriotic Americans.

The Left for which there is nothing of the old extreme Left that’s extreme to them anymore sees evil where there is good and good where there is evil. They celebrate abortion, homosexuality, socialism and even madness.

McGovern would be deemed right of Center to these loons.

Liberalism (in the classical sense) IS dead.

The 21st century is the century of the blood. If you are a liberal (as almost all white Americans are), you face very very difficult choices.

I don't have to read this...I can recite it from memory.

I live in the belly of the beast...within a $1.10 subway ride (the "senior" fare) of Harvard Square. I routinely drive (and walk) past multi million dollar houses with signs in the front yard saying "regardless of where you're from you're welcome here".

I get a huge, daily dose of the cr@p that this overindulged little twerp is dishing out.
