In the 1980s my wife and I traveled to Nashville and visited the Blue Bird Café where we watched my very good friend Terry Hinely and his brother Donal play for one night. Terry played glass drinking glasses and was amazing. Their band was Glasnots and they played many Renaissance Fairs around Dallas Texas. The glasses were unsecured on a thin piece of plywood and each had various amounts of water inside. He would wet his fingers and rub the rim to make the sound. Terry taught German to inner-city children of Dallas. One Saturday he legally pulled through an intersection and was T-boned by an uninsured illegal creature from Mexico. He died instantly and left behind a beautiful wife and young daughter who were never the same.
