Supercut: Media Back to Loving Romney

Mitt Romney is currently putting on a master class for winning media adoration. The lesson is relatively easy for anyone to follow:

Step 1: Get power

Step 2: Use that power to try removing Trump from office

Step 3: Bask in media adulation!

While Utah’s rookie Republican senator says he voted to convict President Trump on the first impeachment article — abuse of power — out of his own personal conviction, the effect had the helpful side effect of scoring media props.

As Romney closed his remarks on the Senate floor, he was already being showered with media veneration.

“Wow,” CNN’s Brooke Baldwin exclaimed. “That was extraordinary. That was pure honesty and emotion from Mitt Romney.”

They trashed McCain when he was running for president. Same for Romney. The media hopes a mind-numbed public doesn’t notice the hypocrisy.

..”out of his own personal conviction”, ...

No, out of his pompous sense of religious self-righteousness

Dear Pierre Defecto (Defecato),

You’ll fit well with the media; they’re as fickle as you.

You know snake schumer is trying to convert him to a Democrat. Shouldn’t be too hard. He is a democrat at heart anyway. Perhaps he can move back to Massachusetts and be one of their Senators, or run for President as a Democrat...

I don’t believe his decision was motivated by religious convictions. While I know nothing about Mormonism, I suspect like many religions it rejects coveting something that belongs to another. In Romney’s caae, he covets the office of President, one he could not win because he was afraid to go at Obama’s foreign policy weaknesses including catering to Putin. I recall how Romney had beaten Obama, badly, in the first debate and then turned tail in the second. So, Romney is left with anger at Trump for winning the thing he could not - the Presidency. Add to this the humiliation of Romney when the President interviewed him for the Sec of State job only to choose someone else. These affronts were too much for Romney and so he came after the President, first as Pierre Delecto, and then using religion to mask his own hatred and envy.

You are likely correct; however he justified that (in his own mind) as “doing the right thing”...couched in a personal religious context. Its like holding up a liquor store after convincing yourself that alcohol is bad for people. BTW, know a lot about Mormons - good devote folks—but a little on the self-righteous side or in Mitts case, a lot on the self-righteous side.
