Report: Marine Commandant Removes Confederate Symbols From All Corps Installations

History defines who we are as a nation, love it, hate it, but learn from it. Liberals have no reason to speak out about Confederate monuments.

They became even more aggressive and started to destroy Confederate monuments!

The current monuments throughout the country of both the union and confederacy layout an important time in history for our great nation, it provides the stories and timeline of what took place and why we separated as a nation.

It also reminds us of the sacrifices all Americans made, and it brings to life the African American heroes of the civil war such as John Lawson, Robert Caillox, Robert Smalls, William H Carney, Aron Anderson who was given the Medal of Honor, Powhatan Beaty, Alexander Thomas Augusta, Miles James and let’s not forget Harriot Tubman, is it really a good idea to erase our nation’s history, if we do it’s only a matter of time before great men and woman I mentioned will be forgotten.

How many of us really heard of these people, when I was a kid my mother insisted on visiting Civil War Historical places on family vacations so we would learn of the struggles our growing nation went through.

But it seems that liberals are not proud of their American history.

Yesterday Task and Purpose first broke the story that the Marine commander decided to remove all Confederate symbols from the corps installations.

Marine Corps Commandant Gen. David Berger ordered that all signs of marine involvement in the Confederation be erased. On Wednesday, his spokesman confirmed this information on his twitter.

“Direct the removal of all Confederate-related paraphernalia from Marine CorpsInstallations,” posted Military Analyst B. A. Friedman on Twitter.

https://twitter.com/iAmTheWarax/status/1232839875973521408?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E1232839875973521408&ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.rightjournalism.com%2Freport-marine-commandant-removes-confederate-symbols-from-all-corps-installations%2F

Task & Purpose, referring to the words of Berger’s spokesman reported that this directive has already been sent to senior management.

“Last week, the Commandant of the Marine Corps directed specific tasks be reviewed or addressed by Headquarters Marine Corps staff,” Maj. Eric Flanagan said in an email. “Many of the tasks were published on Twitter Friday. Other tasks not published previously are mostly administrative matters.”

To date, it is not known exactly when the Marine Corps is going to fulfill this order. Additional information will be announced on Friday.

There are several military bases named after confederate generals. Fort Benning, Fort Bragg, Fort Hood, Fort Lee, Fort Gordon, Fort Pickett (of Pickett’s Charge fame), Fort Polk. I’m sure there is a couple more.

What happens with the names of these bases?

Also, this problem is nothing new.

In 2016 Anthony Bauswell, said he was turned away because of his confederate flag tattoo. The Marine Corps confirmed that a man was told his tattoo of a Confederate flag made him ineligible to join the Marines because it violates the service’s policy on body ink.

“These Confederate flag tattoos have been denied in the past,” said Capt. Dustin Pratico, a spokesman for the 8th Recruiting District. “It’s a not new thing. This isn’t the first time that it’s ever happened. This is just one of the times it happened to catch media attention.”

It’s all by design from the left since about 50 years ago, a slow and steady process to indoctrinate our youth into adults to accept a fundamental change to our republic.

It is time to take education away from the unions and the federal government. It’s been nothing but a screw up for decades. Let’s not forget the historic moment when 5th Marines took Shuri Castle on Okinawa they raised the Confederate battle flag.

Please share this article wherever you can. It is the only way we can work around their censorship and ensure people receive news about issues that Democrats and the mainstream media suppress.

I am not liking what this liberal Commandant is doing to my beloved Corps. It has always mystified me how rabidly the left has needed to tear down Southern culture. Not just the flag- is there anything admirable about the south according to a liberal? At any point in US history?

I’m sure somebody will come along and correct me (this is FReeRepublic, after all) but...as i understand it as the old Veterans were dying out a “national reconciliation” took place. Not like such would occur today, demanded by a Federal Government which required annual training days of minority recognition or whatever but actual, from the heart, spontaneous “put it behind us forever”.

There were large meetings where survivors from both armies met again on the battlefields of their youth and learned they could celebrate their valor while recognizing those days were gone with no desire for their return. They could embrace their old enemy and look to a better future. These monuments were put in place at that time, to celebrate what was in their own eyes a great achievement.

Here is the place where the enemies of America have realized where the “chisel” of decisiveness can easily be placed to re-ignite dead embers of long lost fires. If this old wound can be reopened the rest is easy.

As I recall, there was a section of the Marine Corps Museum about the Confederate Marine Corps. I wonder if Berger can dictate to the Museum what to do.

You don’t have to be liberal to be against the symbol of an illegal rebellion that tried to destroy our great nation. This old devildog agrees with the commandment on this.

Funny thing is, the South used to be Liberal, and New England used to be rock-ribbed Conservative. Vermont was as Conservative as Wyoming.

IS this the same CMC that just ‘proposed/ordered’ that there be MORE female ‘combat troops’ and also granting 1 year leave for pregnancy? Start that and the MEN will be demanding leave to tend to ANYONE they may or may have ‘knocked up’?

In ‘my day’ one had to be an E5 to get married and the reasoning was
“IF UNKA SUGAH WANTED YOU TO HAVE A WIFE, SHE WOULD HAVE BEEN ISSUED TO YOU IN YOUR INITIAL SEABAG”

I guess the next move will be to condemn ALL the ‘nose art’ and ‘battle flags’ from the WWII forces who beat back aggression by foreign powers.

My main question is

What will the CHINESE do when the word LEE is stricken from the American language?

If there was no Confederacy then there was no slavery. Nobody living today ever saw or lived as a slave so it is a hoax.

Reconciliation with the wayward sisters, including their pride, their customs, and their traditions, was a very wise policy.

In fact, my version of Dixie on my phone is played by the Corps of Cadets marching band, USMA, West Point NY.

I’ve never lived south of East Flatbush and I hate grits, but still...

Tearing down this wise policy is one of the most foolish and reckless things the leaders of any nation have ever done.,

August 9, 1960

Dear Dr. Scott:

Respecting your August 1 inquiry calling attention to my often expressed admiration for General Robert E. Lee, I would say, first, that we need to understand that at the time of the War between the States the issue of secession had remained unresolved for more than 70 years. Men of probity, character, public standing and unquestioned loyalty, both North and South, had disagreed over this issue as a matter of principle from the day our Constitution was adopted.

General Robert E. Lee was, in my estimation, one of the supremely gifted men produced by our Nation. He believed unswervingly in the Constitutional validity of his cause which until 1865 was still an arguable question in America; he was a poised and inspiring leader, true to the high trust reposed in him by millions of his fellow citizens; he was thoughtful yet demanding of his officers and men, forbearing with captured enemies but ingenious, unrelenting and personally courageous in battle, and never disheartened by a reverse or obstacle. Through all his many trials, he remained selfless almost to a fault and unfailing in his faith in God. Taken altogether, he was noble as a leader and as a man, and unsullied as I read the pages of our history.

From deep conviction, I simply say this: a nation of men of Lee’s calibre would be unconquerable in spirit and soul. Indeed, to the degree that present-day American youth will strive to emulate his rare qualities, including his devotion to this land as revealed in his painstaking efforts to help heal the Nation’s wounds once the bitter struggle was over, we, in our own time of danger in a divided world, will be strengthened and our love of freedom sustained.

Such are the reasons that I proudly display the picture of this great American on my office wall.

Sincerely,

Dwight D. Eisenhower

As an Alabamian, one of the hardest things I’ve come to accept is how many blacks really do think the Confederate Battle Flag is aimed at them as a racist symbol.

The problem is not the flag, or the history even. It’s just that the segregationists in the 1940s/50s/60s did in fact use it as the symbol of their commitment to keep Jim Crow laws viable, or, as they said, “Keeping their traditions and customs whole.”

Now don’t go off half cocked on me! I don’t agree with them. But I do understand that many think this way. I want people here to be aware of this thinking among black Southerners.

We really need to educate people on history, warts and all, and never forget our past. White and blacks in the South have a history together that goes back 400 years.

Good post. Hard to avoid the reality that the CBF was carried by the armies that were trying to keep slavery intact.

At the same time, removing every symbol related to the Confederacy is going way overboard.
