“We’re going with friends on a princess tour cruise to Alaska in August. I would hope it’s over by then???”

Our extended family is considering an Alaska cruise the summer of 2021, probably on Princess. I wonder if they’re cutting any deals now considering the current circumstances.

Don’t forget rallies and convention. Some stupid councilwoman, a Democrat announced on twitter if she gets the virus she is going to attend Trump rallies.

I mentioned taking “cruises so often” - my mistake, I thought you were the original poster who has just gotten off one trip!

Last I checked Cruise Insurance was $50 pp. Began doing that last time simply because of age and related concerns.

Carnival is my favorite line. Easiest to relax and have fun on. Staff are superbly trained and have top notch responses to unforeseen events.

Disclaimer: I go on cruises to relax and have fun. I’m not trying to prove anything or want to be a Pom. I just want to relax and enjoy the cruise.

Been on 6 Carnival cruises. All were perfect.

I would be more concerned about your airline flights to begin cruise than the cruise ship itself. In the plane you are breathing re-circulated air. On the ship, you can stay a lot outdoors and breathe fresh ocean air full of oxygen from the algae and plankton. Overall the airplane is 100 times more crowded than a large cruise ship.

2 years ago we were on the ship Oasis of the Seas, which had a large area called “Central Park” on outside deck with dozens of trees and hundreds of bushes and had birds living there permanently!

“I mentioned taking “cruises so often” - my mistake”

We average about one cruise per year. We’ve met people who’ve been on 90 or more. A few live on the ships, rotating from ship to ship. I couldn’t do that; I need more space.

Main Reason I have been on 30 some cruises is, no cooking, no cleaning, no making beds, no grocery shopping, no dish washing and better food than most restaurants in town and no bills for food no matter how much you eat.

No more smokie, even with a balcony, but the casino will still be happy to take your cash while you smoke — at sea.

They might still have a smoking deck area, but I haven’t checked since the spouse quit.

The life of Riley! Also sounds like you’re pretty comfortable on ships in general.

I’d go stir crazy, even on the largest ship. I like to take off and roam when the urge hits me. That works better on land than at sea.

My gym is in the sub-division complex of about 275 homes.
Most of the time I am the only one there. And they have wipes available to wipe down handles and knobs you would touch. Been going there for 9 months since we bought the house, and only once I ran into a 30 year old who was coughing. Knock on wood, no problem so far.
