His two terms in office were riddle with strikes, a recession, the COLD WAR heating up, and a growing anti-Americanism in South America...with VEEP Nixon being pelted with rocks and veggies on his trip to one of the nations there.

Those weren't Ike's fault. Organized labor in the private sector was at its zenith during these years, so periodic strikes took place. Stalin and Khrushchev were the ones heating up the Cold War, and it was Communists who instigated the mob attacks on Nixon that almost took his life.

I wasn't "blaming" Ike; but he was a "hands off", re a lot of things and I still will NEVER forgive him for not supporting the Hungarians, in '56, when he had told them he would.

Yes, I do know about the stinking Commies' interjecting themselves in Cuba and South America! And I was shocked ( yes, even as a kid ), at Nixon's treatment!
