I've done that.
Stopped on the side of a 2 track at the hunt club to "tend to some pressin' bidness" on Uncle Boogers Bumper Dumper. Set my old Glock on the bumper as usual. Was kinda inna hurry as it was steady raining. Anyways, after the paperwork was done I jumped in the truck and ran off to my spot. Didn't realize the Glock wasn't with me till I was a few hundred yards away. Drove back-n-forth (I know, sorry azz) and didn't see it. Got out and walked and stepped on it in the first mudhole. I'd run over it at least twice.
Field stripped it, rinsed it out in the muddy water to get the big chunks and then with water from a jug to clean.
Reassembled and popped of 3 quick ones. GTG.
..It ain't pretty and feels like a 2x4 in my hand. But it's balls on dependable. YMMV d:^)
