How would China profit by launching a bio attack on the US’ economy, its people, political system, and businesses?
Maybe, if COVID-19 insured Donald Trump’s defeat?
The US economy was Trump’s ace to win 2020.

I think it may be a message to the west, from the Chinese:
“What if this little virus were just a little more deadly?
-Next time?”

Even if it was, say, an accidental release. Bioweaponry is now seen to be so powerful that it is likely see continuing usage, particularly from otherwise weaker countries looking to bring down stronger ones and, paradoxically, the elite gleaning more from the plebes. ($6T by voice vote, anyone?)
And BTW, this is -yet another- reason why we need to update our thermonuclear arsenal, which is aging.
Nuclear war is the deterrent to keeping anyone from releasing something as spreadable as this virus, but more deadly.
All out war can be fought, and deterred, by parallel means.
If this is a bioweapon, which I seriously doubt, then it has backfired on China.
Pres. Trumps approval ratings have increased. The Chinese funded MSM’s credibility has sunk even lower. China has shown itself to be incompetent in a crisis; more worried about covering up problems than correcting them. And, there is now more momentum to returning more manufacturing, such as pharmaceuticals, to the U.S. for strategic as well as economic reasons.
IMO, it’s a scary thought that ‘someone’ might be holding a far more dangerous variant of this novel SARS virus in case it needs to be released just before Nov to disrupt the election.
It might appear to be a random mutation, how would we know?
Such a scenario could easily usher in a world war.

The present warfare is postured not to be a war of aggression as in conventional warfare.

Personally I have no doubt that we are suffering from biowarfare perpetrated by China. Many feel the same way. The question is what will the rest of the world do about it, certainly the People of China are beyond tired of their Communist overlords.
The Cinese have engaged in international espionage to achieve a designable biowarfare agent, and COVID-19 is designed to subjugate populations, not kill them all.

Watching China salivate over taking Hong Kong or Taiwan is always shocking. Don't Chinese leaders realize if they took over Taiwan, Hong Kong OR the United States that they would turn those places into Chinese (Wuhan) type hellholes within a few years?
