I think Trump realizes that making rosy predictions is not working. It’s better to be cautious and then declare victory when the results are better than expected.

Vox said being optimistic puts people’s lives in jeopardy. I can’t even believe how each day’s stupidity is worse than the previous day

I don’t think being optimistic puts lives at risk. Just that it’s politically more advantageous to set expectations lower and then outperform them, than the reverse.
He’s in a tough fight where anything he says or does will be pounced on.
If he’s “lying” I will forgive him and let the Higher Power have the final say on that.
I am seeking to do that deliberately nowadays because there is other news out there and I detest when the media gives us one “big story” round the clock.
Let me add something else to what I posted earlier. The people out there are being bombarded with negative which threatens the mental health of some them. No kidding.
The institutionalized mentally ill were put out on the streets by judges 40 or more years ago and the mental facilities don’t contain people like they used to.
Plus there are many compulsive addictive people out there who have issues in normal times much less the times we live in.
The people I speak of may go over the edge and may encounter police who don’t realize what they are up against or don’t care cause they’re not sober themselves causing deadly consequences for the non-law enforcement persons in those situations.
