Here is video of two clips of Dr. Anthony Fauci on “Today” on Feb. 29 saying point blank there was no need for Americans to change their behavior because of the Coronavirus. But today, April 12, he essentially threw President Trump under the bus, leaving the impression he had recommended Social Distancing efforts the third week of February. This is totally dishonest, and it gives the Trump-hating media a narrative to run with. Listen to Fauci’s words. . . .

Sunday on MSNBC’s “AM Joy,” House Intelligence Committee chairman Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA) said he would investigate what warnings from the intelligence community and health organizations that President Donald Trump ignored in the early stages of the coronavirus pandemic.
On “real-time oversight,” Schiff said, “We are right now going through our intelligence holdings. What did the intelligence community make us aware of at the end of last year or earlier this year? Other committees are doing like analyses.”
He continued, “It is very important, I think, in reviewing the intelligence component to this to realize the intelligence piece is just one piece of the warnings coming to the administration. A lot of those warnings were in the public domain. They came from public health organizations, like WHO or CDC or his own National Security Council, and ignored those warnings. (emphasis mine)

Within WikiLeaks' HRC email files, there are letters from Fauci to Hillary Clinton through her aid/lawyer Cheryl Mills: “rarely does a speech bring me to tears”?… “please tell her I love her more than ever”?… “please tell her that we all love her”… “Please tell her that we all love her and are very proud to know her.”
Fauci has been speaking out of both sides of his mouth for some time now. He’s gotten a touch of fame and likes it. This video speaks volumes.

Fauci thinks he's the only knowledgeable doctor on earth and all other doctors are stupid.
I’ve already changed my behavior; I’m no longer listening to a damned thing Fauci has to say (but that was weeks ago).
They really do need to to a FISA Court and give a Proctologist a SEARCH warrant to see where this wild hair that Adam has seems to plague him awefully. If we could get this wild hair OUT, his narrative might hopefully change.
Fauci authored an article in the NEJM on Feb 28, 2020 that sounded pretty reasonable...it was a sober assessment of what could go wrong but of what was going right. And then, three days later, when the tide was turning, he was on NBC sounding like a hysteric. A few days after that, he was back on his meds on Fox Business.
I haven't liked Fauci since then, and my research on his Ebola commentary during the Obama admin revealed him to be (surprise) a well-credientialed bureaucrat doing what bureaucrats do...try to get more funding for his dept and increase his stature.
The problem is, Trump and Fauci were Thing 1 and Thing 2 in mid/late Feb. It's hard to bash Fauci but leave Trump alone. Do I think he's a bad President? Of course not. But let's not ignore the record. If Fauci was 'downplaying' this thing in Feb, so was the President. And sure, he's advising the President but I want my CEO to trust and verify.
Fire Fauci now? While I think he's more of a showboater than Birx and possibly compromised politically, canning him now would be a yuge PR problem. Remember what Rumsfeld said: You go to war with the army you have, not the army you might want or wish to have at a later time.
...but in the summer, I expect to see a few retirements...

You make no sense, don’t understand it’s the re-writing history that is the issue. Re-writing it as a weapon against Trump.
I'm willing to admit that Trump, likely, thought this was like the flu and it'd blow over. Lots of people thought that way and, to be fair, the data circa Feb 15 was looking that way. It'd not like he's miscalculating the threat of the Soviets and it's 1948. But Trump is now acting like the CEO we need him to be, and that's why he'll be re-elected President. Fauci is a bureaucrat who will be forgotten in a year.
