As a caregiver for elderly parents....and have spent COUNTLESS hours in ER and hospital with them...I have witnessed absolute incompetence and disregard. This makes my blood boil.
There were some good folk. Don’t get me wrong. But few and far between. And I come from a family of docs and nurses.
I was able to keep my mother in her home with the assistance of two paid caregivers. I lived in too so I could supervise my mother’s care. The women I hired were professional, respectful of my mother, attentive, and kind to both of us.
They were from a private nursing service and were better at their jobs than the first hospice service I contracted with. They were terrible and I replaced them with another after just a few weeks. The private caregivers were with us through it all. God bless them!
