Our mother was in a state-run nursing home. It wasn’t completely awful, but it was not good either. It was like expecting the DMV to take good care of someone.

THIS is the reality of state-run health-care.

So we made some major lifestyle and financial changes, brought mom home and took care of her there.

Very good. You did the right thing. Someone who is getting paid to take are of your loved one just doesn’t have the emotional devotion that you do.

You will never regret doing that for your mom. God bless you.

Same thing happened with us. My brother had put my mom in a state hospital in the Middletown area. It was wretched.

My husband and I, along with my sister and bro-in-law, got her out of that hellhole, and kept Mom in our own homes and treated her like a Queen until it was time for her to leave this life.

Never regretted it. It was such a joy to have four generations under one roof in her last years. We were all better persons for it.
