They already have public financing for journalism. It’s called the free market economy. The public finances the operation when they buy the tripe being sold. And if they mean financing through our taxpayer dollars then they already have NPR what more do they need? Anything more and it becomes a government controlled operation. Or are they trying to do what higher education did? Unions are outdated and not necessary, they should have gone away like the dodo bird.

I'd go along with that as long as the money is spent on the costs of transporting all of the Nation's so-called journalists to long-term housing at Gitmo...
OTOH, maybe there is a serious plot behind the coming release of Daniel Pearl's killers... I believe the U.S. will snatch him up when he is released and take him to Gitmo...
