1. It had to appear to come from credible sources, thus former CIs.

2. They needed cutouts to hide the real sources and deniability.

But it didn’t have to pass the snell test, did it? The dossier was a joke from the get-go. And fix was already in at the FISA court thanks to those interestingly timed appointments.

You could be right. They could have been dumb enough to pay big bucks for that load of excrement when they didn’t have to.

I’m just wondering if there’s another explanation for why they paid for the dossier.
