Michigan’s stay-at-home order is set to expire May 28, but as some sectors of the economy begin to reopen earlier in regions of the state, many people are wondering what could be next.
The first-term Democratic governor has come under fire for the COVID-19 related restrictions, sparking three major protests at the Michigan State Capitol, capturing the attention of thousands of people across the country. Some protests have featured racially-charged messages, such as a Confederate Flag, and other insensitive signs, like nooses or comparing Whitmer to Adolf Hitler.
Another protest-type event organized by the Michigan Conservative Coalition is scheduled for May 20 on the Capitol lawn dubbed Operation Haircut, following the organization’s previous protest named Operation Gridlock that stopped traffic near the Capitol for several hours.
People breaking the law and not getting cited for it at protests could change Wednesday during Operation Haircut, Whitmer said.
“Anyone who is planning to show up to protest, just please know that these executive orders are not suggestions. It’s the law, and we expect people to abide by them. If they don’t, we’ll have to look to see what action is necessitated,” Whitmer said. “I would just hope that people take that into account when they decide to make that trip in because I know that we don’t want to have to write tickets, but if that’s what is necessitated, that may have to happen. I’m hopeful that it doesn’t.”
An executive order signed by Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer that went into effect mid-April prohibits people from traveling between two residences and bans travel to vacation rentals. Since then she gave other orders: Section 8b of Executive Order 2020-90: Individuals may also travel:
To return to a home or place of residence from outside this state. To leave this state for a home or residence elsewhere. Between two residences in this state, including moving to a new residence. As required by law enforcement or a court order, including the transportation of children pursuant to a custody agreement.
All other travel is prohibited, including all travel to vacation rentals.
As Whitmer, herself said you still aren’t supposed to be doing unnecessary travel, and she is “strongly discouraging traveling to the summer homes”. But as every democrat she is a hypocrite and she doesn’t respect the orders he gave to her own people.

Isn’t the stay at home order still in place? Didn’t she say don’t run up north because things are open? The time is long past Patriots waking up. They woke up over a year ago. This is the time of action (for action connotes it hasn’t started). You can see evidence of action by protests happening all across the USA. Action tends to snowball and morph. That’s how things change. That’s what makes the pages of history.
Perhaps she’s inviting everyone to HER summer home?
Yeah. That’s stupid. If your other home is out in someplace rural, you’re less likely to get the disease by being there.
Apparently she “allowed” this area to open so her daughter could have her open house up there. Anyone else hearing this?

The Confederate Flag is a racially charged message? My, how times, definitions and the culture have gone downhill, left side first.
I always thought the Confederate Flag was a sign of southern pride or that of rebellion. In the case of Michiganer’s hating their tyranical governor, I’d bet the true reason for that flag is rebellion, but the racist journalists know no different.

The native Detroit Governor doesn’t understand the community ecosystem of lake house residents. The family ties go back generations and they take care of each other. Cutting people off from these lifelines hurts the state facilities.If grandma doesn’t go up to the lake house, the extended family doesn’t go up either.there is no one around to check in on the neighbors and friends that have been there for the long winter.Whitmer is an idiot and MI will suffer.

The CSA flag is a symbol in the South of a time when those that got sick of federal overreach and anti constitutionalism and had the cojones to actual put it on the line.
She truly is evil.
And people in the North could be just as every bit racist as Southerners were and did not like the blacks coming up and taking the jobs away from white labour.

It’s a sign against rebellion against government tyranny, and not just southern. I’ve seen more Confederate flags along the back roads of the hills of western New York state than I’ve ever seen here in Tennessee.
For some reason, people connect it only with the south and with pro-slavery. The people I know in NY with Confederate flags are descendants of extreme abolitionists, and hold those same values.
Isn’t that the mantra for the Pelosi school of Government.
Shades of Chris Christie closing New Jersey beaches then going to the beach at his state-owned beach house, or Pritzger of Illinois sending his family off to their Florida home after closing down the state. Some of these governors are terrible at the visual of ‘do as I say, not as I do.’
America’s delivery drivers need to cure these lockdowns tomorrow. If these heavily blue areas insist their regions are too dangerous for their populations to return to work, then they are also too dangerous for occasional workers, like drivers, to enter into with food products. These regions should be embargoed until the population is safe enough to move about.
