I would be happy with a simple P226.
I have noticed a lot of used and refurbished Sigs on the market. Nearly all are in .40 caliber. Probably from Police Deprtments trading in their’s which were bought after the Miami shootout.
Everyone finally figured out that the 9mm didn’t really cause the fatalities.
From American to Italian to Austrian to German in just over a century.
Now this sounds like a one size fits all solution? do they have any other options besides those mentioned? Is the old 1911 gone for good finally? if I was the collecting type, it’d be nice to have one of each.
It’s very cute.
I’ll stick with my 1911, though.
RAH!
Should have went with 10 mm, and left the 9 to the others.
NATO, Schmato!
I just got back from the range. I love my Sig P320. Zero problems with it and it’s design is REAL easy to work on.
The article doesn’t give the caliber? Is it coming in both 9mm and 45?
Those M18’s are very nice—I just bought one. A friend of mine has the M17, great weapon.
while also bringing with it new, more effective ammunition...???
Carried a handgun my whole life and don't really hold to that question/comment, but it stuck with me as a spiffy anecdote...
'Course, that reminds me too of being a younger boot even before that when we WERE still carrying the .45 and going to semi-annual qual. I was griping about how loose the my old, issued pistol was...so loose you could shake it and hear it clank. I blamed that for my inability to get a tight group on the target. My moaning caught the ear of a range instructor, who snatched the pistol from my hands, drew down on the target and placed five rounds center mass, handed the .45 back to me and silently walked away. I shut up.
Several years later I mentioned to a friend who customizes pistols that I would love to replace the mainspring housing with one that had a lanyard loop. He said the pistol also had a plastic trigger. He pawed through his old parts and was able to find the lanyard loop and an original long metal trigger.
Then all I needed was something for carrying it. I got a custom made brown left-handed military holster and a WW I belt and a two magazine pouch.
So now that part of my collection is complete.
I love my GL-23. Not a single mis-fire in 12 years.
“...provides modularity...”
What does modularity mean when it comes to a pistol?
