But he’s a smart guy and a conservative. He’s a good debater. He could at least fill the number two spot on the ticket. And frankly in 2024 I’m not sure who replaces Trump. Cotton might be as good as anyone.
If Colin Powell is something more than a NeverTrump sniper and he truly believes his politics can forge a reasonable social consensus, then perhaps he should run for mayor in his hometown of New York City. Otherwise he can sit around, pontificate and continue to tell everybody who will listen what a glorious general and Secretary of State he was.

Apparently he did not support Bush when he worked for him either. He was aware his chief aid was the one guilty of exposing the identity of Valerie Plame and allowed the administration to be torn apart by a special counsel and for Scooter Libby to be destroyed. He demonstrated neither support nor honor.
