NBC News just published this article, which is called
Hardin-Simmons University in Texas says student who made racist TikTok ‘no longer enrolled’
Although I haven’t been able to find a copy of the student’s video, I did read the entire NBC article.
This is how NBC News describes the student’s video:
In the original video, the young woman first writes the caption, People when a BLACK person kills a BLACK person which shows her standing with a calm demeanor.
The next caption in the video reads, People when a BLACK person kills a WHITE person, and shows the woman remaining calm.
At the end of the video the caption transitions to, People when a WHITE person kills a BLACK person, and shows the woman engulfed in flames and mouthing angrily.
The student is telling the truth.
In the U.S., 93% of black murder victims are killed by other blacks.
But I can’t think of a single nationwide Black Lives Matter protest about any of these black-on-black murders.
So the student’s video is accurate.
The fact that NBC called the video “racist” is a totally and completely false description of the video.
The NBC article also states:
Upon learning about a TikTok post made this week by an HSU student, we immediately took action to address the situation and began the required disciplinary process, the university said in a statement. We can confirm that the student associated with this incident is no longer enrolled at Hardin-Simmons University, the statement added.
So Hardin-Simmons University expelled the student because she said something that is true.
This action by the university is despicable, irrational, illogical, and intellectually dangerous, and it goes completely against the very principles of truth and learning that getting a college education is supposed to be about.
Shame on Hardin-Simmons University.
And it was just yesterday that I made this other blog post about a similar incident at a different college: Kansas State University is launching an investigation, and offering students counseling, all because one of its students truthfully said, Congratulations to George Floyd on being drug free for an entire month!
Clearly, this kind of nonsense by college administrators has been getting more and more common. It’s completely wrong, and I fear for what the future will hold in this regard.
One thing that a lot of these incidents have in common is that they aren’t getting mad at students for lying. Instead, they are getting mad at students for telling the truth. When telling the truth is what gets people into trouble, we have reached a totalitarian environment. And that’s exactly what is happening on many American college campuses.
>> NBC falsely said
NBC is Comcast
Comast is a malicious operation. DOJ should bring it to its knees.
She should sue the University for a few million dollars in lost income from no degree plus a few more million for damage to her reputation. Until these colleges start to face the consequences of their actions they will continue with the same behavior. A multimillion dollar judgement is as good a behavior modifier as any.
Who was it that said, in times of universal deceit, telling the truth is a revolutionary act?
I knew some people that went to Hardin Simmons in the 70s. They said it was a good place to be. Things have changed.
How many universities now AREN’T fully Stalinazi ? Telling the truth is now a high crime, as Orwell eluded to.
She has excellent grounds for a lawsuit.
Hope she sues the college and wins. There's nothing racist about that video.
Orson Wells right?
“In a world of universal deceit, to tell the truth is a revolutionary act!”
Good Quote nicely placed.
i was also ruminating Alexandr Solzhenitsyn
“
Hastiness and superficiality are the psychic disease of the 20th century and more than anywhere else this disease is reflected in the press. Such as it is, however, the press has become the greatest power within the Western countries, more powerful than the legislative power, the executive, and the judiciary. And one would then like to ask: By what law has it been elected and to whom is it responsible?
“
What is wrong in todays world is not new. This isnt the first time we’ve been down this road. Nothing new under the sun people.
Just in the last month, the mainstream media has undergone a paradigm shift in taking it upon itself label stuff and people “racist.” Previously, their tactic was to leave direct accusations like that to sock puppet “experts” and interviewees (e.g., “Some consider his statement racist,” or “black students on campus accused him of racism,” or “we spoke to someone who feels that this is racist” etc.). Now, though, we’re in a situation where the MSM matter-of-factly labels something or someone as “racist.” I saw that last week when I heard on or another of the network newscasts announce that “President Trump used a racist nickname for coronavirus, Kung Flu.”
Conservatives are the real radicals these days. BLM and assorted white commies are just so passe
Bkmk
Also, the Department of Education should seek return of all federal funds received on the grounds of violating student civil rights. The school should also be prohibited from benefiting from Pell Grants and federally guaranteed student loans.
The student needs to contact ACLJ.
The university publicly experienced financial challenges in the late 2010s continuing into 2020 as the state and the Baptist General Convention of Texas reduced the funding levels of programs in which the university participates. In 2018, the university ended 9 undergraduate and 4 graduate programs and closed 5 campus extensions (Logsdon Seminary campuses in Coppell, Lubbock, Corpus Christi and McAllen; Acton MBA Program in Austin). These changes also included terminations of staff and faculty.[6] Two years later, in 2020, the university announced that it would close Logsdon Seminary and end an additional 22 academic programs with accompanying terminations of staff and faculty.

Youd think theyd want to retain as many students as possible, but wokeness leads to brokeness.
I dont know. I havent been able to figure it out, but I think its true.
About a year ago, didn’t Trump issue an EO or something forbidding conservative college students to be persecuted because of their opinions?
Or maybe that only applied to colleges that get Federal funding, which this university may not get.
I had no idea that even Hardin-Simmons, a Southern Baptist school in a city with a strong conservative bent, Abilene, Texas, had been engulfed in political corruption too.
Oh it’s among the disputed quotations of George Orwell...
Oh well, If he didnt say it, he damn well should have!
In a world of deceit, to tell the truth becomes a revolutionary act!
Wow! Thanks for the link.
